#SNAPNATION Appreciation: Alex Janssen
"Thanks to the Snap Fitness Staff, I’ve never felt or looked better in my life, and my confidence in myself is through the roof."
The month of March is dedicated to #SNAPNATION Appreciation. We love our members and would be nowhere without them. Throughout the month we will be sharing different stories highlighting how our members inspire us each day. Read Alex Janssen's story below!
"Before I joined Snap Fitness two years ago, I was the heaviest I had ever been in my life. My overall health and physique was put on the back burner. Not caring about diet and the lack of physical activity in my life became the norm. Two years ago, I started feeling tired all the time and didn’t like what I looked at in the mirror. When I joined [Snap Fitness] I admittedly thought to myself, “I don’t need a trainer, I’ll just do what I think I remember from high school.”
After a year of this mindset of training without knowledge, I lost little weight and got tired of my “routine,” eventually taking a break from going to Snap Fitness. Last October, I received a text out of the blue from Cesar, a Snap Fitness Personal Trainer, about a Roadmap (a health assessment that I regrettably declined when I joined). The assessment opened my eyes to what I did not know about proper training.
When I started training with Cesar, my goal was to see a "1" in front of my weight number, something I haven’t seen for a long time. We blasted past my expectations getting to the lowest weight I have been since college and lost three inches off my waistline. The combination of fun and intense workouts a personal trainer like Cesar offers made me more confident and I now look forward to the journey of a healthy lifestyle.
Thanks to Cesar and the Snap Fitness staff, I’ve never felt or looked better in my life, and my confidence in myself is through the roof. Now going to the gym/classes is an integral part of my routine and life. It’s blunt, but I read this quote through my journey every day I thought about not going to the gym: “Instead of saying 'I don’t have time' try saying 'It’s not a priority.' Keep going!."
