#SNAPNATION Takes On The Murph Challenge
Join Snap Fitness for the Murph Challenge on Memorial Day — May 31 2021 — to honor our nation's fallen heroes.
We're excited to throw our hats in the ring for the annual Murph Challenge this Memorial Day, May 31! This year, we're adding our own Snap Fitness spin to the challenge so we can all participate and honor our fallen heroes on Memorial Day, no matter our fitness or ability levels.
Plus, you'll be entered to win a prize just for committing to the challenge.
If you've never heard of the Murph Challenge, it's a challenging + rewarding workout that honors LT. Michael P. Murphy (SEAL), a man who sacrificed everything he had for our freedom. The Murph Challenge is also the official annual fundraiser of the LT. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation.
What's involved in the challenge?
It's an intentionally challenging workout that pushes us, humbles us, and allows us the opportunity to dedicate a bit of sweat to honor LT. Michael P. Murphy.
The full challenge is: 1 mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 pushups, 300 squats, 1 mile run. All in a 20 LB vest. They don't call it a challenge for nothing!
The Snap Fitness version of the Murph challenge is a little different. Introducing: build your own Murph.
All you have to do to participate is build a workout that will challenge you and offer you the chance to dedicate your energy to a hero who is no longer with us. Perhaps you replace the 1 mile run with a 1 mile incline walk on the treadmill or 15 minutes on the elliptical. Your 300 squats could become 3 sets of 10 squats with increasing weight! You probably get the idea.
Whatever you choose, make it a challenge, and make it matter to you. The training begins now.
The official Snap Fitness Facebook page will host a live event for the challenge. Tune in on Memorial Day to complete your own version of the Murph Challenge and be entered to win one of 5 prizes! Winners will be selected at random.
See below for a few potential modifications to help you complete your Murph Challenge.
As always, please consult with a physician before starting any workout regimen
