Member Spotlight: Matt’s Story of Survival and Inspiration

2016-03-02 | By: Snap Fitness

Meet Matt!

Matt is three things: a dad, Snap Fitness member, and cancer survivor.

Over the last year, Matt De Leon battled cancer and in 2016, he was ready to get his life back. Be sure to follow his full journey via his Instagram account: keepafterit.

Simply put, Matt is inspiring and motivating others. We couldn’t be more proud of his accomplishments and to have him as a part of #SnapNation!

Below is a Q&A where Matt shared his experience and journey.

What brought you to Snap Fitness?

Snap Fitness is in a very convenient location from my house. The cost is very affordable and the small size of the gym gives me the feel of it being my own home gym.

What sets Snap Fitness apart from other fitness providers?

The convenience of having access to go 24/7 every day of the year and the environment is very welcoming. Also, there are Snap Fitness locations all over the country and when I travel for work, it makes it easy to find a place to get my workouts in on the road.

What were your goals when you joined Snap Fitness?

When I joined Snap Fitness three years ago, I really didn’t have any goals. I just wanted to maintain where I was physically - which I believe was very average. I lacked the motivation to push myself to my fullest potential.

How has Snap Fitness changed your life?

Since the beginning of this year with my new outlook on life, I’ve been able to make my workout videos at Snap Fitness and share them on my Instagram fitness account (@keepafterit). Keeping me accountable to make it consistently to the gym and inspiring others has definitely changed my life. Without the convenience of Snap Fitness I doubt I would have ever started my new fitness journey.

Describe your fitness journey with Snap Fitness in one word.

Have your goals changed at all during your time at Snap Fitness?

After going through cancer last year, my goals certainly have changed. Now my goals are to become the strongest physically and mentally than I’ve ever been and to inspire others on a daily basis to be the best they can be.

Would you recommend Snap Fitness to a friend?

I have recommended Snap Fitness and I would do it again.
