How to Stick with your New Year’s Resolutions

2016-12-30 | By: Snap Fitness

Whether your New Year’s resolution is to get stronger, workout more often, eat healthier, or not health related at all, these are the best ways to stick to your New Year’s Resolutions!

Start Small

If your resolution is to workout more often, start small and build your way up! This may mean adding one more day to workout every other week. Starting small and building your way to your goal is a much better route than overwhelming yourself right off the bat.

Talk About It

Don’t tell your whole office what your resolutions are, but talk to your close friends and family members about what you want to achieve. The people who are closest to you are your biggest supporters and will help you stay on track with your resolutions!

Forgive Yourself

It is impossible to be perfect when trying to stick with your resolutions. That being said, don’t be too hard on yourself! If your goal is to eat healthier and you accidently devour a plate of cookies in one sitting, it’ll be okay. If you are taking consistent strides towards your goasl don’t let a couple missteps discourage you from reaching or keeping them.

Review Your Progress

In most cases, a couple months after New Year’s, our resolutions are forgotten. If you want to stick with your resolutions throughout the year constantly review your progress. Pick four to five dates throughout the year to do this! Whether you write these dates down in your agenda or put them in an online calendar, a reminder to review those goals will keep you on-track and striving to do better!

Celebrate Yourself

Remember why you made your New Year’s resolutions in the first place, and celebrate your successes along the way. We know that these commitments can be tough so celebrate yourself for sticking with yours, and celebrate when you reach your goals!

It is a new year, a new you, we know you can do it!
