Dumbbell Complex Workout
There are endless benefits of including complexes into your exercise regimen. Not only can you get more work done in less time, but also add intensity and can create a metabolic disturbance in your body that will ultimately result in fat loss. A complex is a series of exercises strung together in succession and done without putting your weights down. You will use the same weights throughout the entire workout. When doing a complex workout, you will want to use heavy weights so that the reps are low but you will complete multiple sets.
For this particular complex workout, you will need two dumbbells that are heavy enough that you will reach muscular failure between five and eight reps. This routine is all about multi-joint exercises that work many muscle groups at the same time with the focus being on legs, buns, back, shoulders, and your cardiovascular system.
1. Dumbbell Deadlift
2. Dumbbell Bent-Over Row
3. Dumbbell Clean and Press
4. Dumbbell Squat (holding dumbbells up by shoulders in a neutral grip)
5. Dumbbell Shoulder Press
Perform this dumbbell complex for a total of three sets with a 90-second rest in between each set, followed by 20 minutes of jogging on a moderately-inclined treadmill.
