It’s no secret that staying hydrated is an essential part of every health and wellness routine. Water helps your memory, gut health and skin amongst many other benefits. It’s generally recommended that people consume around 8 cups of water a day, but this approach isn’t a one size fits all option. 

Getting your necessary water intake isn’t always an easy thing to do. Here are five ways you can mix up your water with added benefits. 

Mint

Fresh mint leaves are rich in minerals and a great flavour boost to water. Adding a few fresh mint leaves to your water may help freshen your breath and aid nausea. 

Lemon: 

Squeezing a lemon wedge into your morning water is known to have many benefits! This citrusy addition is high in Vitamin C, boosts digestion and freshens your breath. 

Chia Seeds: 

A simple boost you can add to your water is chia seeds! Soaking ¼ of chia seeds in 4 cups of water for 20-30 minutes may strengthen your teeth and bones and increase your fiber intake. 

Honey

Raw and organic honeys are high in minerals. This sweet addition may help prevent infections and soothe sore throats.

Berries 

Not only are berries incredibly tasty, they can be loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Soak them in water for a refreshing drink that may boost your metabolism, help your skin, or increase your energy.
