Snap Fitness Donates $100K to Common Hope

02/16/2015

Contribution Highlights America Fitness Brand’s Community Involvement Campaign

CHANHASSEN, Minn. (Feb. 16, 2015) — Snap Fitness, America’s Fitness Brand that provides a world-class workout experience at an affordable price, recently presented Common Hope, a Minnesota-based charity, with a check for $100,000 at the 24/7 fitness franchise’s corporate headquarters.

The donation will go straight to helping children in Guatemala receive a quality education. Over the past four years, Snap Fitness Founder/CEO Peter Taunton’s philanthropic efforts with Common Hope have resulted in greatly improved classrooms and nearly 2,000 hours of mentoring to first grade students.

“There is no greater feeling than knowing you made a difference in someone’s life,” Snap Fitness Founder/CEO Peter Taunton said. “I’m proud to work with such a special group like Common Hope that is focused on helping others in need.”

Common Hope, founded in 1986, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote hope and opportunity in Guatemala, partnering with children, families and communities who want to participate in a process of development to improve their lives through education, health care and housing.

This marks the latest effort in the Snap Serves campaign, which was launched after Snap Fitness reached 300,000 Facebook likes at the end of January. To celebrate that impressive accomplishment, Snap Fitness pledged to match that number in hours of community involvement. This donation will go a long way in providing the resources needed for continued support with mentoring for the students in Guatemala.

“It’s one thing to be the top wellness brand in the world, but it’s another to truly make an impact,” Taunton said. “America’s Fitness Brand does both.”

Snap Fitness Renews NASCAR Sponsorship

02/02/2015

America’s Fitness Brand and Landon Cassill Sign New Deal

MINNEAPOLIS (February 2, 2015) — It’s full speed ahead for Snap Fitness and Landon Cassill in the 2015 Sprint Cup Series. America’s Fitness Brand will again be a primary sponsor for Cassill and his No. 40 car.

“I’m thrilled that our brand will continue working with Landon in 2015,” Snap Fitness Founder and CEO Peter Taunton said. “He is a tremendous athlete and leader who is dedicated to working hard in order to reach his goals, which is an attitude we see in our clubs across the country.”

In 2014, Snap Fitness became the first wellness franchise to partner with NASCAR.

“The exposure we garnered last year with NASCAR was astounding. Aligning America’s Fitness Brand with one of the most popular sports in the U.S. was a complete triumph and total game-changer,” Steele Smiley, chief officer responsible for brand strategy, said. “We are two brands that touch millions of people across the country, so renewing our partnership was a no brainer.”

This year’s sponsorship will go beyond the racetrack. Snap Fitness will support Cassill’s triathlon training in hopes of qualifying for the 2015 Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Austria.

“I would not be the caliber of athlete I am without Snap Fitness,” Cassill said. “The training I’ve done at Snap Fitness has truly transformed my lifestyle and helped my endurance behind the wheel.”

Snap Fitness is excited to start the season off in Atlanta as an early season race. Cassill called it one of the season’s most exciting races and a great venue to kick-off the Snap Fitness sponsorship.

Snap Fitness Pledges 300K Hours of Community Involvement

01/29/2015

CHANHASSEN, Minn. (January 29, 2015) — To celebrate reaching 300,000 Facebook likes, Snap Fitness pledged to match that amount in hours in community service and involvement with its “Snap Serves” campaign. To celebrate its ever-growing social media persona, the brand is honoring this impressive feat by getting clubs around the world involved in impacting people’s lives outside gym walls.

“I’m a firm believer in giving back to the community,” Founder/CEO Peter Taunton said. “No matter how big or small, the time and effort you give to helping others can truly change lives.”

Over the next year, Snap Fitness will be tracking its way to 300,000 hours on social media. Owners and operators will share images and stories, as well as log the hours spent helping others.

“From food drives to sponsoring 5k runs, there are plenty good deeds our clubs are pursuing in their communities. This campaign is all about sharing that with the world and inspiring others to join Snap Nation,” Taunton said.

Snap Fitness Unveils Brand Update Initiative

01/19/2015

America’s Fitness Brand Updates Flagship Club, Extends Redesign Opportunities to New and Existing Franchisees

CHANHASSEN, Minn. (January 19, 2015) – Snap Fitness, America’s fitness brand that offers a world-class workout experience at an affordable price, has announced a brand remodel featuring a modern, sleek aesthetic update.

The goal for the remodel is to provide franchisees and the rest of Snap Nation with a new look and feel without compromising the quality workout experience the brand is known for. The most prominent feature of the redesign is the custom wall options that feature hundreds of Snap Nation members. Franchisees can choose either a unique full-color collage or an American flag collage that they can customize with their own images of members, personal trainers, and more.

“We knew right away we wanted to make a statement with the club redesign. It needed to be bold, but also inspire our members,” says Steele Smiley, chief officer responsible for brand strategy. “We viewed it as a huge opportunity to both motivate and grow our member base, and the final product will do just that.”

After years of providing members with the equipment, support, and environment to transform their lives, Snap Fitness decided it was time to give the clubs a transformation of their own.

“Our brand has enjoyed more than 10 years of success with little change to the design of our clubs,” says Snap Fitness Founder/CEO Peter Taunton. “With this new redesign, we aim to modernize our clubs while further establishing ourselves as America’s fitness brand.”

The transformation will begin in early 2015 with the brand’s flagship location in Chanhassen. Each new club will adopt the updated design, with redesign opportunities offered as an option to current franchisees.

Snap Fitness Pursues Aggressive Global Growth With New UK Master Development Agreement

11/10/2014

Global club count set to increase 25 percent with UK deal and Snap Fitness India expansion

MINNEAPOLIS (Nov. 6, 2014) – Snap Fitness, the world’s leading 24/7 fitness franchise, today announced a master development agreement for the United Kingdom with TwentyTwoYards Ltd. The agreement is one element of the Lift Brands-owned company’s rapid international expansion; its Indian franchise partner recently announced plans to bring 300 new clubs to the second most-populous country in the world.

“The importance of living a healthy and active lifestyle transcends cultures,” Peter Taunton, Lift Brands CEO and Snap Fitness Founder said. “Snap Fitness’ model has proven successful across multiple continents and with the fitness and business expertise of TwentyTwoYards, we are confident America’s fitness brand will be embraced by individuals across the pond.”

As indicated by the 2014 State of the UK Fitness Industry Report, the rapidly-growing low-cost market continues to drive the UK health and fitness industry’s growth. Year over year, the report found a 4.5 percent rise in the number of health club members. There are three Snap Fitness clubs currently operating and eight in development in the UK, but the TwentyTwoYards group plans on opening 250 locations over the next four years.

“In the UK, we have an ever-increasing awareness and desire to prioritize personal health and fitness,” said Matt Quinn of TwentyTwoYards. “Snap Fitness clubs are helping more people than ever achieve their lifestyle goals, and I couldn’t be more excited to bring this internationally-proven brand to our country.”

Snap Fitness is also expanding its footprint in the Indian market. Since selling its first franchise in 2009, Snap Fitness India has expanded rapidly with 50 clubs open or in development. Snap Fitness India CEO Dr. Virkam B.M. announced plans of opening 300 additional clubs by the end of 2017. The company, which is pursuing new locations in cities including Delhi-NCR, Bangalore, Raipur and Kolkata, was recently named “Franchisor of the Year” at the Franchise Awards 2014, India's topmost honor in franchising. Snap Fitness India is also looking at an initial public offering once it reaches 100 clubs.

With a total of 500 clubs opening over the next four years in the UK and India, Snap Fitness is expecting to increase its number of clubs 25 percent.

“Entrepreneurs around the globe are recognizing the opportunity that Snap Fitness provides – not only is it a win for their portfolio, but for the community as well,” said Steele Smiley, Lift Brands Chief Officer responsible for all domestic and international growth. “We are aggressively looking for the right partners to bring Snap Fitness to other emerging markets.”

Under the agreements, Snap Fitness provides master franchise partners with exclusive rights to use the fitness brand’s trademarks, intellectual property and systems for the length of the term. Additionally, a dedicated team at Lift Brands headquarters in Chanhassen, Minn., works directly with the companies to provide support.

Currently Snap Fitness has more than 2,000 clubs open or in development in 15 countries. For additional information on Snap Fitness and its master franchise agreements, visit SnapFitness.com.
