Don and Marilyn Kunkel
Our membership and the partnership with Kearn has provided us a GREAT TIME while additionally, modeling our bodies with tone and our cardio into great conditioning. We are in our 5o's and I haven't felt this good, being light on my feet and comfy in my days demands, for well over a decade. There is nothing to compare to a great feeling of having MUCH BETTER physical shape while yet being 'over the hill'.
My brief description of my physical fitness history would begin with knee surgery back when I was 16 when essentially all of the meniscus was removed from beneath my kneecap. (A common preventative to invasive surgeries BEFORE arthroscopy.) This has set up limited options of mobility to not inflame the joint after the age of 30. I was an athlete of basketball and volleyball through College. Worked out in aerobics and later found yoga, and was a seasonal cyclists, yet in the 10+ years prior to attending SNAP I was overwhelmed with body weight I had gained through menopause and I could not control my weight status.
My fitness goals when I joined SNAP was to work out. I love the feeling of a good workout and physical exertion. I was craving this from hours spent commuting for work. Surprisingly my husband gifted me a membership with him at the same time I was 'seriously' about to find a club, but I had not shared this with him. So the gift of SNAP MEMBERSHIP was timely and wanted.
My personal training helped me achieve or move toward my physical fitness goals with HUGE success. I like feeling successful, don't we all? Obtaining a trainer was not my idea, nor did I think it was really necessary. WAS I EVER WRONG! Having someone who is there to inform, encourage and to hold me accountable for my goals has made getting into shape successful work because it tailored to my capacity each step along the way. For me, this is a formula for fun with my fitness. I can ALWAYS be successful for the step right in front of me. How good does that feel? REALLY GOOD FEELINGS. Well it is better than a feeling because my days had great stress release, additional success is also evident in my physical shape.
SNAP membership in Talent is a good fit for me because the folk are simply friendly. I like going where I feel welcome. And I find they are friendly not because they have a nice face put on, but because they are interesting folk with a generous attitude of kindness. This club is filled with a cross section of easy going people who are there to work out. It is great to see collections of young people meet up there to work out, to see numerous folk my age, and many older. For me it is an easy going crowd who respect the working space of others. Of course the view out the windows are rather spectacular as well.
I like having a club in Talent, it is easy access right off the freeway on Highway 99. A fine grocery store is not far away, and Talent is an easy city to find what is on my 'todo' list with my working out.
My measure of success is not just the good time I have, the great shape I have worked out, but in my knees. My knees are no longer swollen and my legs are in the best shape I have EVER had since my 20's!! Between the effective equipment and the training, my knee pain has been reduced by 80%. And that is me speaking conservatively. I am no longer in constant or predictable knee pain. I call that Ah'MAZhing!

Melanie Martin
I was the type of person who was naturally thin without giving a second thought to what I ate or how much. Although I have always enjoyed being active outdoors, I never had to worry about fitting a fitness routine into my schedule. It wasn't until after my son was born that I realized my metabolism was changing and found it difficult to maintain my weight and nearly impossible to lose it.
When I joined SNAP, my fitness goal was not only to lose weight, but to feel better physically and mentally.
The personal training has helped me to feel much more comfortable in the gym - I now know what to do and how to do it. Also, being accountable to the trainer each week with weigh-ins and measurements helped to keep me on track. Losing weight and becoming fit can be confusing and daunting with so much information out there - having a knowledgeable trainer to clarify and give advice has helped me know that I will reach my fitness goals.
My membership at SNAP in Talent has been a very good fit mostly due to the convenience of having the gym within a 2 minute drive from my house.
