My weight didn’t seem like an issue to me until after high school. It wasn’t until my sophomore year in college that my clothes weren’t fitting; I could tell I wasn’t as healthy as I should be. Being winded after walking across campus or walking up stairs were the first signs. The stress of college had led me to over-indulge to a very bad point. Looking at pictures of me with my brother at his high school prom made me realize I needed to lose some weight.
Once I saw those pictures, it took me two days to go to my local Snap Fitness and sign up. Weighing in at 267.8 pounds as a 6-foot female was astonishing to me; I didn’t know how I had let myself go. I was ashamed of how I looked and determined to lose the weight.
After 15 months of hard work in the gym and in the kitchen, I have lost 118 pounds and have maintained my weight of around 150 pounds for a year and a half. I weigh less and have more confidence now than I did in high school and I am never looking back!
