After college, marriage, four kids and starting my business, I found myself too busy to workout. I was also off track as far as healthy eating goes; it was too easy to eat and socialize as a part of my job. After seeing some pictures from a vacation about a year ago, I decided it was time for a change. I went from 230 lbs. and 30% body fat to 165 lbs. and 10% body fat through a combination of cardiovascular condition and weight lifting at Snap Fitness. As part of the process, I was able to work with Snap Fitness trainer who not only helped me to lose weight and build muscle but also developed a meal plan to help get my diet aligned with my goals.
My job shuffles me around to a variety of cities both in my state and out of state. No matter where I am, there's always a Snap nearby and no excuse to not get a workout in, no matter the location or time of day. Snap’s facilities always have open equipment, which allows me to accomplish the workout that I was planning. I also like that they have a variety of equipment so that when one exercise wasn’t working, I am able to try something else.
I now feel great, have more energy for my family, and most importantly have a healthy sustainable lifestyle. At a recent two day physical at the Mayo Clinic, I passed with flying colors. The general practitioner observed that based on my results, I had a calculated risk of cardiovascular disease in the next 10 years of 0% - something he had never seen before! Without Snap, I could never have made the transformation I did.
