Landon Cassill Finishes Ironman World Championship Race

By: Snap Fitness

NASCAR Driver Achieves Goal With Help From America’s Fitness Brand

ZELL AM SEE, AUSTRIA (August 31, 2015) — Landon Cassill capped off his 2015 triathlon season in historic fashion, qualifying for and finishing his first-ever Ironman World Championship with a time of 5:06:04.

The past several months have been a whirlwind for Cassill. Between NASCAR races, practices, triathlon training, and a new baby at home, Cassill credits Snap Fitness for helping him stay dedicated and ultimately reach one of his biggest goals.

“At the beginning of the year, I made it a goal to qualify for the World Championships in Austria,” Cassill said. “I could not have accomplished this without Snap Fitness. This brand is truly results-driven, and it’s inspiring to work out in its gyms.”

Most weeks consisted of Cassill competing in NASCAR races and either training or completing half triathlons – sometimes within hours of each other. The weekend he qualified for the Ironman World Championship in mid-July perfectly captures his dedication to both his NASCAR and triathlon races: he raced in the Kentucky 300 Friday evening, flew to Indiana for Saturday morning’s 70.3 Ironman race, finished the race seventh overall, then flew back to Kentucky to drive in the Quaker State 400 that night.

“We call Landon our ‘real-life Ironman,’” Chief Marketing Officer Steele Smiley said. “He is constantly working to get better at everything he does, and that’s an attitude we value and see in our franchisees and members.”

Up next for Cassill is the Bojangles’ Southern 500 in Darlington, SC this Sunday with Snap Fitness as the primary sponsor. For live updates on Cassill and the #SnapNation No. 40 car all weekend long, follow Snap Fitness on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Snap Fitness and Hillman Racing Unveil Darlington Throwback Paint Scheme

By: Snap Fitness

America’s Fitness Brand Honors Sterling Marlin’s Famous 9/11 Tribute Design

CHANHASSEN, Minn. (August 25, 2015) — While other sponsors are bringing back their “old school” logos and designs for the Bojangles’ Southern 500, Snap Fitness is paying homage to an iconic car: Sterling Marlin’s 2001 “God Bless America” paint scheme.

Marlin’s paint scheme ran for the first time in the 2001 Protection One 400, which took place a few weeks after the September 11 terrorist attacks. Chief Marketing Officer Steele Smiley called the design moving and timely for the upcoming Sept. 6 race.

“The ‘God Bless America’ paint scheme struck a cord with us,” Smiley said. “With Sept. 11 just days after the race, we thought this was a perfect opportunity to show our support for the victims of 9/11 and their families, as well as our appreciation for those who have served our country in the years since.”

The paint scheme for the most part stays true to the original car run by Marlin with two patriotic phrases around the car: “Proud to be an American” on the back quarter panels and “God Bless America” on the back rear. Snap Fitness added to the design with “9/11 Never Forget” on top of the trunk, complete with a skyline showcasing the Twin Towers.

This isn’t the first time Snap Fitness has showed its patriotism. All summer long, America’s Fitness Brand has ran a campaign to benefit Folds of Honor, an organization that provides scholarships to families of fallen soldiers. For every 30-day trial pass purchased until Labor Day, the fitness provider is donating $1 to Folds of Honor. Now, Snap Fitness is expanding its donation efforts in a special way with the announcement of its Darlington throwback paint scheme.

“As America’s Fitness Brand, we want to do as much as we can to help veterans and show our sincere appreciation for those who have served our country,” Smiley said. “The week of the Darlington race, every time someone shares or retweets any of social media posts that include #SnapHonors or uses that hashtag in any of their own posts, we will donate $1 to Folds of Honor.”

Cassill said he loves the continuation of patriotic paint schemes on the Hillman Racing No. 40 racecar.

“It was a defining cultural moment when Sterling ran this paint scheme on his No. 40,” Cassill said. “This paint scheme pays tribute to him and all those who were affected by the Sept. 11 attacks. This is America’s paint scheme – for all who have courageously served our country.”

Look for #SnapHonors on the Snap Fitness Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts to get involved and give back with America’s Fitness Brand. Additional information about Hillman Racing is available on the team website, Facebook, and Twitter.

Landon Cassill Hits the Road to the NASCAR Hall of Fame

NASCAR Driver Will Run to the Historic Site After Coca-Cola 600

CHARLOTTE (May 12, 2015) — With summer right around the corner, Landon Cassill announced that he will run 14 miles to the NASCAR Hall of Fame immediately after competing in the Coca-Cola 600 May 24 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway to inspire fans to get active with Snap Fitness and help support a worthy cause.

Between his run and NASCAR race during Memorial Day weekend, Cassill will log over 600 miles by car and foot that day with America’s Fitness Brand supporting him every step of the way.

“I’m honored to have the opportunity to combine my passion for running with encouraging others to embrace a healthy lifestyle while recognizing those who have dedicated their lives to protecting our country,” Cassill said. “My goal with this post-race run is to motivate the sport’s fan base to get up and make fitness a priority this summer.”

Cassill’s run to the NASCAR Hall of Fame will kick off Snap Fitness’s “Snap Serves” summer campaign, which honors those who have served in the military and encourages people around the country to start their fitness journey. All summer long, Snap Fitness is offering 30-day trial passes for $8.95, giving individuals 24/7 access to 1,500 locations across the United States. For every 30-day trial pass purchased between Memorial Day and Labor Day, America’s Fitness Brand will donate $1 to Folds of Honor, a foundation that provides scholarships to the families of soldiers killed or disabled in active duty.

“The fact that Landon is running over a half marathon after driving 600 miles all within a few hours is an amazing feat; there’s no doubt he will motivate people to get up and get active,” Steele Smiley, Chief Officer of brand strategy, said. “Not only does the Snap Serves summer campaign give people the right tools and support to work on their health and wellness goals in our clubs, it provides veterans with the recognition they more than deserve for serving our country.

Cassill, who regularly competes in triathlons, credits the guidance he’s received from his neighborhood Snap Fitness club in helping transform his lifestyle – something everyone can achieve with America’s Fitness Brand.

Snap Fitness Signs Master Franchise Agreement for Spain

By: Snap Fitness

24/7 Fitness Brand Continues Dynamic Global Expansion in 2015

CHANHASSEN, Minn. (March 9, 2015) — Snap Fitness, the world’s premier 24/7 fitness brand, announced a master franchise agreement for Spain today with an aggressive plan to open 200 clubs over the next several years.

Albert Marco will serve as CEO of Snap Fitness Spain, with Dextra Corporate Advisors as investors and management advisers. Marco brings over 20 years of fitness and business experience to the helm, while Dextra is a Spanish mid-market M&A/private equity firm with over 30 years of experience.

“Signing a master franchise agreement is a big accomplishment. This team has the ability to influence an entire country with our proven concept,” Steele Smiley, Lift Brands chief officer responsible for franchise development, said. “After years of interest, we finally found the perfect team to lead Snap Fitness in Spain.”

Marco said now is the “perfect moment” for Snap Fitness to join Spain’s market since the country is starting to transition from big box fitness centers to smaller health club options.

“What drew me to Snap Fitness was its proven business model and its dedication to providing members with a world-class workout experience,” Marco said. “The convenient, 24/7 small health club concept is emerging in Spain, and we want to capitalize on this opportunity to be the market leader.”

Snap Fitness is experiencing exceptional international growth. In November 2014, the brand announced a master development agreement in the United Kingdom. During that same time, the Snap Fitness India master franchise holder announced plans of opening 300 additional clubs by the end of 2017.

Snap Fitness Donates $100K to Common Hope

By: Snap Fitness

Contribution Highlights America Fitness Brand’s Community Involvement Campaign

CHANHASSEN, Minn. (Feb. 16, 2015) — Snap Fitness, America’s Fitness Brand that provides a world-class workout experience at an affordable price, recently presented Common Hope, a Minnesota-based charity, with a check for $100,000 at the 24/7 fitness franchise’s corporate headquarters.

The donation will go straight to helping children in Guatemala receive a quality education. Over the past four years, Snap Fitness Founder/CEO Peter Taunton’s philanthropic efforts with Common Hope have resulted in greatly improved classrooms and nearly 2,000 hours of mentoring to first grade students.

“There is no greater feeling than knowing you made a difference in someone’s life,” Snap Fitness Founder/CEO Peter Taunton said. “I’m proud to work with such a special group like Common Hope that is focused on helping others in need.”

Common Hope, founded in 1986, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote hope and opportunity in Guatemala, partnering with children, families and communities who want to participate in a process of development to improve their lives through education, health care and housing.

This marks the latest effort in the Snap Serves campaign, which was launched after Snap Fitness reached 300,000 Facebook likes at the end of January. To celebrate that impressive accomplishment, Snap Fitness pledged to match that number in hours of community involvement. This donation will go a long way in providing the resources needed for continued support with mentoring for the students in Guatemala.

“It’s one thing to be the top wellness brand in the world, but it’s another to truly make an impact,” Taunton said. “America’s Fitness Brand does both.”

Snap Fitness Renews NASCAR Sponsorship

By: Snap Fitness

America’s Fitness Brand and Landon Cassill Sign New Deal

MINNEAPOLIS (February 2, 2015) — It’s full speed ahead for Snap Fitness and Landon Cassill in the 2015 Sprint Cup Series. America’s Fitness Brand will again be a primary sponsor for Cassill and his No. 40 car.

“I’m thrilled that our brand will continue working with Landon in 2015,” Snap Fitness Founder and CEO Peter Taunton said. “He is a tremendous athlete and leader who is dedicated to working hard in order to reach his goals, which is an attitude we see in our clubs across the country.”

In 2014, Snap Fitness became the first wellness franchise to partner with NASCAR.

“The exposure we garnered last year with NASCAR was astounding. Aligning America’s Fitness Brand with one of the most popular sports in the U.S. was a complete triumph and total game-changer,” Steele Smiley, chief officer responsible for brand strategy, said. “We are two brands that touch millions of people across the country, so renewing our partnership was a no brainer.”

This year’s sponsorship will go beyond the racetrack. Snap Fitness will support Cassill’s triathlon training in hopes of qualifying for the 2015 Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Austria.

“I would not be the caliber of athlete I am without Snap Fitness,” Cassill said. “The training I’ve done at Snap Fitness has truly transformed my lifestyle and helped my endurance behind the wheel.”

Snap Fitness is excited to start the season off in Atlanta as an early season race. Cassill called it one of the season’s most exciting races and a great venue to kick-off the Snap Fitness sponsorship.
