Hi, I am Cayla Schroeder and am the Fit Pro for Snap Fitness Madison.  My mission is to instill in my clients a love of physical activity and an overall healthy lifestyle.  I believe that wellness is incorporated in all aspects of life, not only in the gym.  With this philosophy, I encourage clients to enjoy nature and workout outdoors, in addition to eating nutritious, quality food.  I want to motivate individuals to be stronger, fitter and healthier.

Education:  I graduated in 2009 with honors at Augustana College while receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise Science, a Coaching Endorsement and a minor in Psychology.  After school, I received my Health Fitness Specialist certification through the American College of Sports Medicine.  I am currently enrolled in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Experience:  I started resistance training in high school as a three sport athlete and continued with more complex and difficult exercises as a 4 year Division II volleyball player.  These included heavy emphasis on resistance, speed, jumping, and agility work.  In Sioux Falls, SD, I worked at two fitness centers and taught cirtuit and core classes and trained a variety of clients.  At these facilities I strengthened my knowledge of Bosu ball, phsioball, kettlebell, and free weight exercises.  At the same time, I coached volleyball at a Division II school as an assistant coach and implemented their resistance and vertical jump training programs.  While in Madison, I also trained at a fitness center where I continued to learn new exercises and gain valuable experience training an assortment of clients.

Interests:  I love most sports, quite simply.  I regularly play volleyball, tennis, racquetball, badmiton, squash, soccer, and love to run.  In addition, I just finished windsurfing class, which I loved!  Some of my other passions are hiking ad traveling.  My most recent trips this year included visits to The Netherlands, Belguim, Paris, and Hawaii.  My favorite hikes ever are to Machu Picchu, Peru and Kaena Point, Hawaii.  In Hawaii, I actually skydived for the first time - which I would encourage you to try.  I hope to go to Costa Rica this January and to Italy next May if time permits. 

My other passion is music.  I play the violin and piano and was in choir in college.  I have played violin since I was 5 and have played in many weddings and even went to violin camp when I was little!  I actually was in the Madison Symphony Chorus last fall, but school was too intense so I had to take a break from choir.  Basically, if you enjoy working out, sports, music, hiking, or traveling...come chat!

Boot Camp 101

Intro To PT

Our Intro to Fitness package is for members who want help putting together a roadmap to better fitness but aren't ready to make a big commitment to personal training.

We'll teach you the basics of cardio, strength and flexibility through a custom-designed fitness program.

Whether your goal is to lose weight, tone up, build endurance or recover quicker from injury, partnering with a Fit Pro will help you get the most from your workouts and achieve noticeable results faster.

Express Fitness

Looking to get in shape and feel great, but don't have a lot of time for the gym?

With the Express Fitness program from Snap Fitness, you'll achieve the results you want through personalized instruction and shorter sessions to help you get in, get motivated and get out in a flash!

Start on your own with a quick warm up. Then, your Fit Pro will take you through a strength training routine specifically developed to reach your precise fitness goals. Next you'll get your heart pumping with a specific cardio routine designed for maximum calorie burning. Finally, take a few minutes to cool down and stretch and you're on your way in less than an hour.

Most Express Fitness packages consist of two sessions per week for 12 weeks, giving you flexibility in your exercise schedule.

Hard Core

Looking to flatten your abs? Build a stronger back, improve balance, and get greater overall strength?

With the Hard Core group training package from Snap Fitness, you'll achieve your goals through small group sessions that help you strengthen, tone and define your midsection.

Start with a quick tutorial from your Fit Pro to understand the importance of strengthening your core to improve your overall fitness. Next, push yourself through a power-building core workout. Finally, take a few minutes to cool down, stretch and discuss additional exercises to help improve posture and relieve back pain and stress.

Hard Core is offered in 6 and 12 week sessions, with the average program taking place 2-3 times each week for around 25-50 minutes per day.
