Healthy Weight Loss After having Hodgkin’s Disease, with all the glories of steroids and not all the muscular build, I gained a lot of weight.  I used to be a fairly athletic, playing lots of sports.  I got to the point of not being able to walk a flight of stairs without being completely winded.  Trying to get back in shape on my own with all my complications was not working.  My chiropractor suggested Snap Fitness, so I called and immediately started.  I’ve seen wonderful results and what an awesome staff.  I am so thankful to them and can not wait to reach my goal with all their help and support they have given me.  Thanks a bunch!!

Make Time, Not Excuses! 

My original fitness goals were to lose weight and become more active on a regular basis.  Gaining more than 15 lbs. in a very short time was my main motivation for hiring a trainer, along with my love for chocolate and my own non-productive exercise habits.

I now have more energy and make time for my workouts.  I am seeing results not only in weight loss, but also a change in my eating habits.  I am observant of what and how I eat, thanks to Kevin holding me accountable.

       Overall I feel better physically and my stress level has definitely decreased.  Thank you Kevin!

A New, Positive Outlook! After about 22 years of not working out, I knew I needed help, guidance and support in order to feel better about myself, to have more energy, to get back into shape and to be healthy in mind and body.   My cholesterol was high and there is a history of heart disease in my family.  I am rapidly approaching 40 and my children are more self-sufficient, so I decided it was time for me to commit.  I hoped that hiring a personal trainer was the key that was missing for me because what I’d been doing previously was not working. I don’t normally make time for myself so this has been a huge adjustment for me.  Kevin keeps me going.  He changes things up for me so I don’t get bored.  I feel a responsibility to work out and eat healthier.  He is always willing to offer advice and alternatives when it comes to food.  He pushes me to give 100% every session, even when I don’t really feel like it.  Kevin is always supportive – actually the entire staff has been fantastic! I now feel better about life in general.  My clothes fit more comfortably.  I am more organized, have more energy and feel positive about what I am doing.  I am sleeping well and eating better…I just feel good!  Thank you Kevin and Snap Staff!

Emily DeWaard

Choose your ‘tude!’”        Nothing is worse for a true athlete than to become overweight and sedentary.  This is what happened to me when I moved to college and took on the typical lifestyle that I thought every student needed to experience.  I soon gained 45lbs and was just unhealthy in every area of my life.  I kept on this downward spiral until April of 2007 when I joined Snap Fitness and took Josh as my trainer.  Seven weeks later I have lost 6% body fat and put on a pair of jeans I have not worn since high school.  On day one I could not run five minutes and now I am running fifty.  Not only is Josh changing my body, but he is changing my whole attitude about the way I handle things in my everyday life.  I am starting to respect my whole self in body, spirit and mind.  I trust and respect Josh as my trainer because he not only kills me in the gym two days a week with personalized workouts, but he also takes care of the emotional rollercoaster people go through while losing weight. Thank you for helping me through this journey back to my old self!

Arlene Prather-O'kane

I can now plan on being and living healthier for my second 50 years!   My original motivation to committing to working out and using a trainer was to loose weight and feel healthier.  As I have been training the last few months, I realize I need to keep the motivation on a lifelong basis.  I also feel the exercise, although difficult and “torturous” at times, always makes me feel better after I’m finished with my workout.  I also want to keep a sense of balance and determination that I get with exercise as one of a few healthy agenda items for myself. Working with a Trainer:   1. Working with a trainer has kept me “Accountable” to myself and others.  Katie, who works with me, has the knack of increasing my exercise many times without it being obvious.  This helps me to focus on the right way to do the exercise and not worry about “if I can do it or not”.  2. I like working with my trainer because she is not “judgmental” about my weight.  3. I also have found I look forward to seeing a friend who realizes I am trying really hard and I feel supported in what I am doing to take better care of myself. 4. Working with Katie has assisted me into getting more used to a lifestyle of healthy change for the rest of my life.
