Diane Hedin
Diane is a 60-year-old teacher. She has alsways been an active person, but when she was working she didn't have the energy or the time to devote to exercise. She had high blood pressure for a very long time and took a low dose blood pressure medication. She went for her annual physical in October (06) only to find out that, technically she was also a diabetic. We hear all about type II diabetes in the news, and unfortunately, she was a recipient of those diabetic genes. Her glucose levels have been gradually creeping upwards for the past 3 years until her doctor suggested that something be done, either with medication or diet and exercise. She decided to give the diet and exercise a shot before relenting to medication.
She wasn't a couch potato. Her daughter and her became Snap Fitness members before the exercise equipment even hit the carpet! They both thought it would be great to be able to work out at any time of the day or night. They tried to work out at least 3 times a week. After finding that she was diabetic, her physician suggested she double her workouts. Presently, she tries to work out 4 days and take one day off and has tried to stick to that schedule as much as she can. Since October, 2006, she has lost 22 pounds, but the numbers tell the real tale. She had an appointment this morning with her physician to see how well she had been doing on her own. Her blood pressure, which had also crept up to a whopping 162/88 (even on medication) is down to 122/64! She also had blood drawn and her glucose level has dropped 22 points, going from 134 to 112! Granted, it is still considered high, but she won't have to take medication as long as she keeps doing what she is doing and continue to improve. Little did she know that her physician was also considering increasing her blood pressure medication as well. Granted, it wasn't all done with exercise. She did change her eating habits, but without the availability of Snap Fitness, she doubts that her progress would have been quite as swift.
One last comment......when she was stuck at a plateau, Erik was there, readily giving her advice and making suggestionsas to how she could get off this plateau. He always makes it sould SO simple! Well, 10 days have past and she has begun to lose weight once again. It takes a boat load of discipline to work out on a regular basis regardless of where one goes or what one does. Snap Fitness has been the easiest, most convenient work out "gym" for her. She wishes she could have thought of bringing it to Hayward.

Terri Dryer
Terri has been a member of Snap Fitness since it opened in Feb. of 2006. She uses the facility 4-7 days a week and she is always amazed that the small town of Hayward has such a great gym! Snap is always clean and other members are always friendly and helpful. Cindy, Snap's Manager, is always smiling, professional and has always handled her needs very effeciently and promptly. Erik is a great personal trainer with friendly, helpful attitude who has taught her alot during her membership. He is always ready to answer questions, give advice, explain fitness workouts, and has helped her to stay motivated during her weight loss/fitness journey.
She is hoping SNAP will continue to grow and possibly expand its gym area and add fitness classes such as aerobics, kickboxing, spinning, etc.
She wishes SNAP Fitness continued success in the future and appreciate the oppurtunities the gym and its staff have provided her!
