I have been playing team sports for as long as I can remember, and growing up near the beach in Grand Haven, I have always had a love for the water and outdoors.  I played volleyball and soccer through high school; some injuries gave me a new view on athletic training and rehab, and sparked my interest in the field of health and wellness.  I spent two summers interning at Shoreline Sport and Spine Physical Therapy in Spring Lake, and two semesters at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in their inpatient treatment center.  I graduated from Calvin College with my degree in exercise science and biology. I am certified through the American College of Sports Medicine as a Health Fitness Specialist. 

Jon Deja - Manager/Personal Trainer

I grew up in Southwest, Michigan and enjoyed playing organized team sports in school. At the age of 20 my father introduced me to the sport of triathlon. Since then I have developed a strong commitment to competing in triathlon at a high level as well as a passion for health and fitness. I have learned personally that with hard work and dedication anything is truly possible and I want to help others realize this by helping them achieve their fitness and life goals. My passion has led me to study exercise science at Grand Valley State University as well as become nationally certified as a personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE).  I have a great deal of knowledge in endurance sports and running biomechanics but also enjoy helping people feel better and happier through health and fitness.

Mark Kornacki - Fitness Assistant/Marketing Director

My personal love of fitness led me to Snap Fitness.  I attended East Kentwood High School where I played both lacrosse and football.  After high school I went to Michigan State University. Outside of work I enjoy water sports, mountain biking, skiing and snowboarding.

Patrick Lasher - Fitness Assistant/Marketing Director

I was born and raised in grand rapids. I am a recent graduate from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor in Business Administration and majored in Management. I've been involved with fitness since highschool. Although my focus sport is golf, I still strive to be in shape and feel great. I love to strength train to achieve my goals, and let me tell you.. There's nothing better than seeing results.

Kathy Metcalf

I have struggled with weight problems for most of my life, and as a single working mom, I never felt like I had time to exercise. I joined Snap Fitness in October, 2009 after losing 25 pounds with Weight Watchers. I wanted to speed up my weight loss, and a chance encounter with Kim Von Kaenel, the General Manager of Snap Fitness, was the final push that I needed. I have been working out 5 days a week, and have now lost almost 70 pounds. I have met some wonderful people at Snap Fitness, and have received so much positive support from them and the Snap Fitness staff. Exercise has become an important part of my life. I feel better than ever, I have more energy, and I have a whole new lease on life.

I'm 50 yrs. old, my husband Scott and I have been Snap Fitness members for 2 yrs.  After both of us going through knee surgeries, we had to change the way we work out. Snap Fitness provides you the equipment to fit your needs while you're rehabilitating.  I love the Watermark Snap Fitness.  Everyone is so wonderful and the instructors really care that you get the most out of each class that you take.  I love those spin classes!  I also love MSU sports, Detroit Tigers, cottage in Marquette, hiking and a great sunset w/ a glass of wine!

Working out at Snap Fitness allows me to get in an hour's worth of cardio a day without having to run outdoors.  This is important to me as a former marathon runner who is struggling with a chronic foot injury.  I feel balanced and grounded each day after my workout.  I appreciate the clean and friendly environment that Snap offers.
