Josh is the poster child of consistency.  He has used his wife and his newborn boy as motivation.  Thus far, he has lost 40lbs working with John Thomas and has put in extra effort working overtime on his fitness on his own. High levels of both cardiovascular and weight training round out Josh's 5 day a week workout regimine.

Josh recommends that everyone stick with their workouts.  The work is hard and rarely fun, but the results are life changing!

January 1, 2010 I started my weight loss journey and joined Snap Fitness.  I had not exercised in 2 years and was overweight. I had a physical June 2009 and my blood pressure and all lab work had accelerated from the previous year. My doctor was concerned about my weight gain and lack of exercise.

I started out exercising slow 15 to 30 minutes of cardio 3 days a week. With determination I now do 90 minutes of cardio 5 days a week and 2 of those days I also do weights. I enjoy exercising and feel so much better after each workout both physically and mentally, I will continue to persevere and achieve my goals for it is attainable. The key is to stay focused and know it is a building process. I will confess it was not easy at first and still remains a challenge.

Many thanks to the leadership at Snap Fitness for without there support I would not be where I am today. They give me help with nutrition, exercise and ALWAYS positive reinforcement from the time you enter the building. 

I had my physical this past June and my Doctor was very pleased with the blood pressure and lab work. He agreed my joining Snap Fitness was a move in the right direction.

The Staff make all the difference and we have the BEST of the BEST!

My Journey Back

 

I had been a size six for over 28 yrs.  I got side swiped by a series of family illnesses and tragedies between 2007-2010, and I got sloppy with watching my food intake.  After several years of missing my annual check up, I scheduled a physical for December 9, 2010.  That day I was front and center on the doctor's scales. I had cholesterol problems and I had high blood pressure.  When I left the doctor’s office I had to do two things.  First I had to forgive myself for gaining a lot of weight and then I had to make the commitment to take back my health and my life.  I came home and read a book on good nutrition and the journey began.  For a whole month I concentrated on eating healthy and getting back into good habits. 

A friend had gone to Snap Fitness and worked with Kathleen (Kathy) Wood, who will always be known as my beloved Coach.  I made an appointment to meet with her on January 6, 2011.  I was terrified.  I told Coach that I was a gym drop out and I would be the greatest challenge of her career.  I had to buy new gym shoes and learn about my body and my weaknesses.  Coach went slow and introduced the equipment slowly, one piece at a time. Coach says the key to being healthy involves the 3 m’s….wrap your mind around what you have to do, monitor what you put in your mouth and move, move, move your body. I went to parties and dinners out with friends.  I was very clear with my friends.  I told them if they cared about me they would cheer me on to victory.  They did just that.  I learned several important things from my training with Coach.  Exercise is fun and sweating is a good thing.  You will feel better, burn more calories and sleep better at night when you exercise.  Laugh at yourself often.  This stuff can be really fun!

Before Memorial Day 2011, I was back in all my size 6 clothes, my cholesterol was normal and my blood pressure is perfect without taking medication.  I have lost 58 pounds and I feel great!  Coach says I am empowered.  I do know I could not have accomplished my goal without Coach and Snap Fitness.  I needed cheerleaders when the scales got stuck and did not want to budge.  Snap is convenient, clean and all the trainers are talented as well as very caring people.

On July 2009 I turned 40 yrs old and was overweight with high cholesterol. It wasn't until a few months later when I was trying on some new dress pants and had to go up to a 39 waist that I realized that I needed to make a change. I joined Snap Fitness Columbia. At my first evaluation I was 200 pounds and had a 39 inch waist. With the help of the trainers and a lot of hard work I have lost 24 pounds and have taken off 5 inches off my waist line. Not only is my physical appearance improved but I know my health has improved. My resting heart rate has lowered and  my high cholesterol has drastically improved. I still have more weight to lose and more fitness goals to reach but I know with hard work and the help of Snap Fitness anything is possible. People always told me that exercise it addictive but never believed them but now I know what they were talking about every day I look forward to walk through the doors at Snap Fitness on Polo Rd. Thank you Snap Fitness for helping me improve my life and know what it is like to set goals and reach them.
