Anne Barrans

Anne Barrans

Anne grew up in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  He childhood in Jackson spurred her interest in outdoor sports and staying active and healthy!

She received a business degree at George Fox University. Upon graduation, she traveled and then moved to Bend, OR.  Anne has lived in Bend for about 6 years now, and she loves it! She and her husband enjoy kayaking, hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, skiing and road biking in this beautiful area. She loves the mountains and sunshine!

Anne and her husband Timothy opened Snap Fitness in NE Bend. She enjoys the challenges of owning a business with her husband, and helping people meet their fitness goals.

 

Dani Edgel

Dani Edgel

Dani grew up in Corbett, Oregon which is approximately twenty miles East of Portland. She has a wonderful, and large family which prevented her from ever being bored while growing up. Her childhood consisted of hunting, fishing, camping, playing sports, wakeboarding, and riding her Kawasaki 250. While she was in high school, she played basketball and ran track.

Now that Dani is a young adult, she holds close to her childhood memories and continues to enjoy the same hobbies (just a bit more advanced in them). She went to the University of Oregon and will soon have her B.A. in Political Science and a minor in history.

Health and Fitness have always been extremely important in her life as she enjoys an active lifestyle.

I moved to Bend in 2006 and studied exercise science at COCC, where I also worked in the exercise physiology lab, assisted clients and studied the effects of physiologic adaptations to exercise.  Following this I earned my personal trainer certification through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).  I have a passion for fitness, running, family and coaching.

I continue to play competitive soccer, mountain bike whenever I can and really enjoy getting outside and being active with my family.

My goal is to help you lead a happier, healther and more active lifestyle through motivation, education and training

Joe Bruner

Joe Bruner

Hi, my name is Joe Bruner.  I was born and raised in Klamath Falls, OR where I grew up very close to the outdoors and my love for adventure took root.

I have been a Personal Trainer since January 2005.  Previous to this I was a student at Southern Oregon University and a seasonal wild land firefighter for 10 seasons  with the  U.S. Forest Service on the Winema National Forest.  After graduating in March of 2004 with a Bachelor's Degree in Health and Physical Education (concentration in athletic training) I was married to my wonderful wife, Danielle, in June.  Shortly after fire season ended in November 2004 we moved to Beaverton and I found a job at 24 Hour Fitness and my Personal Training Career had begun!!!  We moved to Bend in July 2005 where I worked as the Fitness Manager at Gold's Gym.  I then moved to Accelerated Fitness in November 2006.  I started training at Snap Fitness in January 2009.
 
I have many active interests.  My favorites include rock climbing, trail running, hiking, snow boarding, skiing, and fishing.  Because of my lifestyle I have always found it important to keep my fitness levels at their peak.

Michelle Guyatt moved to Bend, Oregon in 1993 from Southern California.  She is the mother of an 11-year-old son, Camden.  They enjoy hiking, fishing, camping, kayaking and many other outdoor activities Central Oregon has to offer.

She enjoys staying active and fit and living a healthy lifestyle.

Hey there, my name is Roxanne Grabb.  I have been a Personal Trainer for over 10yrs.  I got my AAS as a Fitness Specialist in 2000, from Lane Community College.  I take great pride in getting my clients great results whether it be weight loss, weight gain or anything inbetween!  I love dynamic/functional workouts using bands, dyna discs, bosu ball, barbells, dumbbells, and anything else in the gym I can utilize for success.

I just had a baby boy 9mths ago, and know how hard it can be to lose that weight!  It can be done though if you just follow a few simple steps.  Doing crunches and cardio to try and tighten back that tummy area, just isn't enough.  You need a proper nutrition and lifting program if you want to see results.

I love spending time with my family, walking or jogging the river trail, lifting weights, nutrition, snow shoeing, and traveling.

Tim grew up in Salem Oregon with a large family (3 sisters!) and has been very active in fitness and sports throughout life. 

He recieved a B.S. degree in Applied Sciences from George Fox University in 2004 and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Oregon State University in 2004.  Tim has lived in Central Oregon with his wife Anne for 6 years and loves the Bend lifestyle. 

The greatest aspect about opening Snap Fitness has been the joy of seeing lives changed for the better.

Hi, my name is Jarod Harris.  I, like Grant, went through the Exercise Science Program at COCC.  I finished the Associate of Science Degree in June, 2011, and went on to pass the American College of Sports Medicine Health Fitness Specialist Exam later that month. I am now pursuing the Associate of Applied Science degree in the Massage Therapy Program, with my eyes set on being licensed early in 2013.

One of my greatest passions is for martial arts.  I currently practice and teach at Sortor Bushido Kai Karate here in Bend. In July, 2011, I achieved the rank of 1st Degree Brown Belt, and have been a member of the Bushido Kai dojo since shortly after they opened in Bend in 2005.  Although not the only type of martial art I ever practiced or competed in, the Bushido Kai system has had a heavy influence on my abilities as a martial artist, as a student, and as  an instructor.  I have also taught self defense and kickboxing classes for individuals and small groups.

I believe in functional fitness and I like to blend martial arts in to workouts for its promotion of focus, agility, flexibility, and full body conditioning.  I stand firmly on the idea of keeping things fun, varied, and challenging, while working on your goals and needs.

The Human Body is a fascinating and highly adaptive mechanism, and with it we can do amazing things!  Our bodies require movement for health, in fact many health professionals are now prescribing "exercise as medicine".  The benefits of maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle backed by a nutritious diet are numerous, and effects of diet and exercise on your health can be felt almost immediately.  My job is to help you tap into those benefits. My mission is to help you identify your strengths and weaknesses, and determine a plan of attack.  I will provide you with motivation and guidance for improving your health and fitness, making changing your lifestyle easier and less stressful.. I am here to assist and support you every step of the way on the path to a new, healthier, happier you!

Although I was ready to lose weight, one of many excuses for not joining a gym was inaccessibility (too far, too crowded).

In January 2009, Snap Fitness opened 2 blocks away from my office, oops, no more excuses.  It had new Cybex equipment, showers, trainers, televisions & 24 hour availability.  After becoming a charter member, I was set up for an initial evaluation with a trainer.  I've been with that same personal trainer for over a year now. 

We started working out four times a week for 3-4 months.  He set up eating plans & customized the workouts.  I have continued training on a daily basis outside the gym and once a week in the gym.  I've lost over 70 lbs, 42 ½ inches, 30% body fat, my medical lab work is within "normal" range (blood sugar, cholesterol), and my blood pressure is normal. 

My personal trainer was key to my success, I was held accountable to exercise daily, eat accordingly to my training regimen and ready myself for measurements and weigh-ins.  He's become a good friend also!

I love Snap Fitness because they offer everything that I need for my training.  I like that they are open 24 hours 7 days a week, so that I can go whenever I have time.

The equipment is all very up to date and clean. Snap has all of the weight machines, free weights and cardio machines that I like to use.

The staff is great and the owners Tim and Anne Barrans are always helpful and supportive.  I love that I am supporting a local business!
