Spring is the perfect time to change up your routine. Stay motivated, avoid plateaus and keep seeing results. A few ideas to try:
1. Bike to the club. Cycling in the sunshine is a great way to add a few minutes of cardio to your routine. Plus, biking builds muscle tone in your legs, glutes and hips. And let the fresh breeze cool you down on the way home.
2. In season now—try asparagus. Packed with essential vitamins, nutrients and minerals, this green veggie is normally on the pricey side. But at its peak in the spring, you can find some great deals on fresh asparagus. Toss it in a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar, add salt and pepper and roast in a 450 degree oven for ten minutes. Delicious!
3. Don’t forget to strength train. Strength training builds muscle, increases your metabolism and adds energy. If you’ve been doing the Snap Basic 8 routine since January, use your free Online Training Center to create a new routine or talk to a Fit Pro at your club.
4. Water, water, water. Drinking lots of water can help suppress your appetite. The next time you feel the need to munch, drink a full glass; you may just be thirsty. Plus, water hydrates your skin, giving you a healthier appearance.
5. Graze more, eat less. Snack between meals. Try foods such as low fat yogurt, whole grain crackers, a handful of nuts or fresh fruit and vegetables. By snacking every couple of hours, you’ll keep your energy level up and you’ll be less inclined to overeat at mealtime.
